More than just convenient, we think this remote solves our only complaint about this heater: the loose and flimsy feeling buttons. With the remote, the buttons become a backup so they’re not as important.

We like the tower-style design of this heater because of its elongated ceramic element. This allows for more even and speedy heat distribution. It’s not the cheapest Lasko space heater we tested, but in our eyes, it was the best performing. It’s also available in three different colors to fit your personal taste: grey, silver, and black. With the cutout in the back of the heater, you can easily transport it from room to room without worrying about getting burned, another feature that helps propel this heater to the top of our list.

2. Lasko Ceramic Under-Desk Heater – Best Value

To fit under your desk, a heater will need to pretty compact. At just 9 inches in height, the Lasko CD09250 under-desk ceramic heater certainly fits the bill. Being so small, it’s easily portable, and the carrying handle helps you avoid burns when moving it. The cool-touch exterior means that you won’t burn yourself if you accidentally kick it or touch it while it’s running. Important safety features like overheat protection are also included, though it’s missing the tip-over shutoff switch on the bottom—a feature we’ve come to expect on most space heaters.

The thermostat knob works well, but it’s a simple design that won’t allow for precise temperature settings. That said, we were surprised at just how much heat this little device could produce. With 1,500 watts of power, it can easily hang with larger, more expensive space heaters, but this one is very affordable for any budget. Altogether, we think the stellar performance, low price, and compact size add up to the best Lasko space heater for the money.

3. Lasko Cyclonic Ceramic Heater – Premium Choice

Many heaters feature oscillation to evenly distribute the heat throughout a room, but the Lasko Cyclonic Ceramic Heater takes it even further by using cyclonic heat penetration. This provides instant comfort and spreads the heat throughout the entire space quickly and efficiently. We were very satisfied with the cyclonic performance and would like to see it make its way to more heater models. However, it does increase the cost of this device, making it one of the more expensive models we tested.

With digital controls, you can easily set this heater to an exact temperature. Then if you need to adjust it, you can use the remote control without leaving the comfort of your couch. This heater is a bit larger than most of the others we’ve tried, but it’s also very thin and takes up surprisingly little space when you push it up against a wall, which is what it’s designed for. Thankfully, the cool touch housing won’t get hot, so it will never be a fire hazard, especially with the included safety features like automatic overheat protection.

4. Lasko Ceramic Portable Space Heater

With a heating coverage of 300 square feet, the Lasko 5409 portable space heater packs quite a punch for its small size. A carrying handle arches over the top of the controls so you never burn yourself, and it makes this heater stand about 12 inches high. There are smaller options from Lasko, so if compact size is your number one concern, then you may wish to go for a different model instead. It has cool-touch housing so you won’t get burned if you touch it. But we were disappointed to see that there is no tip-over shutoff protection.

For what it is, we expected this heater to be one of the cheaper options, but it was more expensive than similar models with the same features. Worse, the fan in this unit is much louder than we would like. You can hear it from the next room, and we prefer a near-silent heater that doesn’t draw quite as much attention to itself. Overall, it’s a decent little heater, but we think it’s overpriced and outperformed by less expensive models.

5. Lasko Air Logic Bladeless Heater

The first thing you’ll notice about the Lasko AW300 Air Logic Bladeless Heater is its very unique appearance. It’s a sleek tower design that looks original and interesting. But we’re much more concerned with how it performs. It does get very hot, but unfortunately so does the exterior. If you touch it, you could get burned, and we worry about having anything in its vicinity. The airflow also isn’t very strong, so the heat doesn’t get distributed throughout the room as we’d like. That said, it’s also very quiet.

One feature we liked was the digital touch controls on the face of the heater. They let you easily dial in your perfect temperature and they also look stylish. You’re paying quite a bit for the looks and the touch controls with this unit. The performance wasn’t up to par but the cost places it firmly at the high end of the price range. In the end, we suggest going with something that has better heating abilities, unless you really love the aesthetics of this heater.

6. Lasko Designer Ceramic Space Heater

With a unique design that looks more like an ancient artifact than a modern space heater, the Lasko 6435 Designer Series Heater is an attractive product that doesn’t perform quite as well as our favorites. The LED controls on top allow you to set your temperature from 60 degrees up to an impressive 85 degrees. Many space heaters won’t heat past 75 degrees, so we were impressed with the high heat abilities of this unit. Unfortunately, the heat it produced didn’t seem to live up to the temperature showed on the controls.

We always appreciate convenient features that make things easier to use such as the cordless remote that’s included with this heater. Too bad it doesn’t show the temperature you’re adjusting to. All you get is a + and – to indicate whether you’re adjusting up or down, but it won’t tell you what it’s currently set at. It’s also lacking a very important safety feature: tip-over shutoff. Not every heater has this function, but we think they all should.

7. Lasko Oscillating Ceramic Tower Heater

At 16 inches in height, the Lasko 5307 Ceramic Heater is pretty compact for a tower-style space heater. It’s also pretty basic, opting for simple knob controls instead of more user-friendly digital controls. For the price, we think this is an oversight, considering that other Lasko heaters that are priced similarly do include digital controls and thermostats. This also means that there is no remote control, making this heater much less convenient than other models at a similar price.

This tower heater features oscillation for an even heat output that will spread throughout the room. We were impressed with the level of heat this heater pumped out, it seemed to produce higher heat than other units we tested. That makes us even more wary of the fact that it’s missing the tip-over shutoff switch. Despite all the drawbacks, it does include a three-year warranty that shows Lasko still stands behind their product. That said, it’s not one of our favorites, and we think better value can be found in other Lasko ceramic heaters.

8. Lasko Low Profile Room Space Heater

The Lasko 5624 Space Heater has a very low profile, standing 9 inches tall. However, it’s about 40 inches in length, so it’s a pretty large device overall and will take up considerable floor space. Instead of using a fan to blow hot air through your room, this heater uses natural convection heat. This makes for nearly-silent operation, which we were pretty impressed with. The digital display makes it easy to set this heater for your desired temperature, but in our experience, the thermostat is inaccurate. The temperature displayed was not the temperature we were experiencing.

Our biggest problem with this unit is the short lifespan. Ours stopped working correctly after just a few days. This is unacceptable for such an expensive heater. When spending this much, we expect the machine to last for several seasons. We did appreciate the included safety features like overheat protection and tip-over shutoff, but it’s not enough to redeem this mediocre product.

This tower heater is just under 30 inches tall, with an elongated ceramic element that makes for excellent heating. A digital display on the front makes it easy to adjust your settings, even when you’re not very close to the heater. The remote control even has a digital display to make it as easy as possible to dial in your preferred settings.

We had two major complaints about the Lasko 5586 Ceramic Tower Heater. First, it had a negative impact on our energy bills, greatly increasing our energy usage over a central heater. The small size of this unit should make it more efficient, but that wasn’t our experience. Worse, it started to emit an odor of burnt plastic. This left us feeling apprehensive about the safety of this heater. Despite these drawbacks, it’s one of the more expensive Lasko heaters, and we don’t think it has done much to earn the high price.

10. Lasko Air-Flow Heater

Safety is always a primary concern for us when we’re testing space heaters. Luckily, the Lasko 5812 Air-Flow Heater has all of the most important safety features like automatic overheat protection and tip-over shutoff. While we appreciate the inclusion of these features, the automatic shutoff seems to malfunction. It only lets the heater run for a few minutes before shutting off, and it became quite a frustration.

A single knob on the front controls the entire operation of this device, but we didn’t seem to notice much difference between settings. We were also disappointed with how loud the fan on this heater is! It’s one of the loudest that we’ve used. The final drawback we noticed about this heater is that it would often trip the breaker for the circuit it was on. Unless you want to continually make trips out to the breaker box, we’d suggest picking a different Lasko heater.
